He went forth to lose weight

Today was the day. I saw the weight-loss doctor for the first time today. Well, I saw him and the nutritionist. They both told me what is expected of me over the next 6 months. This is going to be a long journey, but I know I can do it.

To simply put what I need to do, I need to eat 4-6 times a day (but smaller meals that are protein heavy), drink more water and less pop (pretty much a given), see a cardiologist, get approval from my neurologist that I can handle the surgery, get approval from my primary that he supports me going down this path, blood work, upper GI, support group meetings (virtually of course), stop smoking no less than 8 weeks before the surgery (yes I smoke, I hide it from y'all), see my sleep doctor to get new parts for my CPAP machine, and continuing working on losing weight on my own.

So when I got home I called all the doctors I needed appointments with and got those set up. The upper GI won't happen until, and the blood work won't happen until January. They strongly suggested I try the different flavors of protein shakes now so I know which ones I like when it is time to switch over to the liquid pre-op and post-op diets. But, they charge $3/2 and I'm a broke ass bitch.

I was so anxious for this appointment that I couldn't sleep at all last night. I have been up since 8am yesterday! Tried sleeping a little when I got home, but I couldn't because my dog decided it was play time. I want to play more Beat Saber today, but with how tired I am I would just end up hurting myself or not getting a good workout at all. I will just get to bed early tonight and play some Beat Saber tomorrow.

I did manage to place a small grocery order to get me started on some proteins I will eat. I want to hard boil some eggs, but I will most likely fall asleep while they eggs are in the water, lol. I can boil those in the morning. I also got some turkey and chicken, cheese sticks and cottage cheese, and some wheat thins.

I am looking forward to my next appointment next month with a goal of losing at least 10 pounds. More than that would be amazing, but I want to lose no less than 10 pounds. Now that the appointment is over I'm not as anxious. I am also blessed to have a friend that already had this surgery and another one on her way to having the surgery as well.

Thank you for following me on this journey.
